BWC Appoints Matvichuk Hockey Director
This will serve to inform our Members, Hockey Academy families, and staff that we have concluded our search to fill the vacant Hockey Director role. I am pleased to announce Richard Matvichuk has been appointed BWC’s Hockey Director effective August 1st, 2019.
First, I would like to thank my Search Advisory Committee; David Bankier, Steve Fabbro, Alex Pantelakis, Derrick Usher, and Debbie Wang who gave so generously of their time to this important task. This task was made especially difficult by the keen interest and number of high caliber of candidates we received for the position. At its most recent meeting, the Board of Directors unanimously approved this appointment.
As you will see by the bio below, Richard Matvichuk brings a wealth of hockey knowledge to the Hockey Director position including experience gained as a player in the NHL, as a GM and Head Coach in the ECHL and most recently as a Head Coach in the WHL. But even more importantly, Richard brings an unbridled passion for developing players, at both the MHA and Academy levels alike, and for developing coaches, as mentors to their players.
We believe Richard’s core values of hard work, integrity, open communication, excellence and continuous improvement align well with BWC’s own and are certain Richard will make an immediate impact on the organization.
We are very excited to have Richard and his wife Tracy, and there 3 Boys Dillon, Dalton, and Cole to join the BWC family, please join us for a welcome BBQ for Richard on Monday August 12th, from 5-7 in front of the NHL Rink (please RSVP to info@bwchockey.com) In the meantime, please join me in welcoming Richard Matvichuk to BWC!
