The 2nd Annual Elite 15 Ice Breaker Showcase kicked off Friday September 12th and this year’s version featured 3 US teams (La Jr Kings, Orange County Ducks, and Kent Valley Rainiers).  Along with CSSHL teams BWC, Yale, Delta, Okanagan, and Pacific Coast.

Great pace in all the games and a well-attended event by WHL and BCHL scouts.  Our BWC team finished the showcase with a 2-2-1 record after defeating the LA Jr Kings in their first game 5-2 thanks to a hat trick by Angus Crookshank.  BWC’s other win came against the Kent Valley Rainiers 6-1.    BWC’s losses came 4-2 in a tight game vs the Orange County Ducks and were pounded 8-2 by cross town rival Yale despite getting 40 shots on goal.  In the last game of the event BWC tied their other rival Delta 5-5 – Delta tied the game with 9 seconds left.

“We went through some adversity and learned a lot about our group.  I really like our team, learning and getting better is all that matters now.  I’m looking forward to our first CSSHL weekend in Penticton this week” said E15 Head Coach Leland Mack

The best game of the event was Yale vs. the Orange County Ducks – very fast and competitive had fans delighted.  OC tied the game with 14 seconds left 2-2 which is how it finished being this was a showcase rather than a tournament.  Something that BWC may look to change for next season.

Thank you to all the teams for coming and look forward to another great event next year.
