The Victoria Grizzlies of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) announced Thursday the commitments of two players with Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) and BWC Hockey Academy roots.

Keyvan Mokhtari and Tyler Welsh have both committed to the club for the 2015-16 season.

Mokhtari, 17, spent the past season with the BWC Hockey Academy Prep team, scoring 19 goals and adding 17 assists in 22 CSSHL games. The Burnaby, BC product also appeared in three games with the Trail Smoke Eaters, registering one assist.

“Playing for the academy was a great experience, being on the ice everyday really helped to develop my on ice skills. The coaches were really supportive and helped us to become better players and people.” said Mokhtari.

Welsh, 18, played with the BWC Hockey Academy Prep team during the 2013-14 season, where he registered 28 points (12-16-28) in 26 CSSHL games. This past season, the Whistler, BC product suited up for the Campbell River Storm of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL), while also seeing game action with the Grizzlies, scoring one goal in one game played.

"Tyler played with so much drive and determination. It never mattered what the score was. He was relentless every shift. It's no surprise that he's having the success that he is" said Aaron Wilbur - BWC Prep team head coach during Welsh's 2013-14 season.

We wish both the best of luck!
