BWC ACADEMY - Player Identification Camp 2025-26

The Burnaby winter club Academy is committed to excellence through mentoring and fostering strong life habits in the classroom, on and off the ice and in relationship building. Providing student athletes, a safe and supportive environment to grow in struggles and succeed in adversity. Providing young, motivated people a structured environment, supported by a world class staff and support system delivering a consistent message and value system that supports the long-term development of our student athletes.

BWC Academy  will have four (5) competitive Teams for the 2025/26 season that compete in the CSSHL:

1.  U15

2.  U15 Prep

3.  U17

4.  U17 Prep

5.  U18 Prep

WHAT TO EXPECT AT ID CAMP!

Each player receives four (4) ice times (1 practice / 3 games), Fitness assessment.

Thursday - checking clinic (optional) + goalie session + team practices +Fit Assessment

Fri + Sat - games

Sun - All Star Game

GOALIES ONLY session **see note above

Exit Meeting with the BWC Academy Coaching Staff

All Star Game (Sunday) - for successful players only (1 each for  U15 and U18)

Team placements for all 2025-26 rosters, will take place during the ID Camp

Cost **New Players- $325

Cost **2024/25 BWC Returning Rostered Players- $150

BWC Open House- During ID Camp

The BWC Open House is geared for the parents / families, while the players participate in the practice session

Open House includes - facility tour / academic structure / academy fees etc..

Goalie Session **Important Notice**

U15 Division & U18 Division goalie session prior to the start of camp. All registered goalies must attend, NO EXCEPTIONS

Some Goalies will be assigned an "ID Camp" team immediately after this session for further evaluation at practice some Goalies maybe released after the goalie only session some Goalies may be  release after the team practice.

Pro Rated Refunds will be provided to those released after each session and reflect the refund amount accordingly.

Checking Clinic

We strongly encourage all first year (2012 born) U15 Division players to register and attend the "Checking Clinic".  The checking clinic will reinforce - angling, body position, stick position, ice awareness, receiving a hit and body contact. The Checking Clinic is run by the BWC Academy Hockey Coaches.

CAMP ATTENDANCE

All interested players must attend the BWC Academy ID Camp.  As an organization we feel it is important for players to earn a spot on one of our competitive teams.  All scheduled BWC ID Camp sessions are mandatory to attend. Those players that chose not to attend ALL "BWC ID Camp" sessions, will risk THE OPPORTUNITY to be considered for one of our competitive teams. Commitments for new players will be done during and immediately following the ID Camp.

ID CAMP CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY

The following refund policy will apply to BWC ID Camp:

All cancellations MUST be made in writing, prior to the March 1st deadline.

Refund requests after the March 1st deadline will not be eligible for a refund. Unless due to inability to participate due to injury supported by a official Medical doctor note.

FULL refunds will be made for medical reasons ONLY

A copy of the medical doctor’s certificate will be required at the time of the refund request

If you cancel for any other reason, you will be reimbursed 50% of the camp cost prior to the March 1st deadline

An administration fee of $50 will apply to all cancellations
